A bit closer to a release date for The Thorn of Emberlain

This is NOT groundbreaking news; no need to get your breeches in a twist… It’s been floating around in the hazy parallel universe of rumors for a while. But now that it has been mentioned both by Gollancz and Scott Lynch on official outlets, we can somewhat-safely assume that the 4th installment of the Gentleman Bastard sequence, The Thorn of Emberlain, will be released sometime before the end of the year.

Thorn of Emberlain release date update

Scott has recently posted a few updates on his tumblr account. One of them concerns the release date of the Gentleman Bastards sequence’s next opus, The Thorn of Emberlain. Progress on the book is still going well. Scott expects it to be released in mid-to-late 2015.
Other topics include gentling, the Wicked Sisters, hardcovers, touring, and TV/movie adaptation. Enjoy!

Geek Bomb video chat with Scott Lynch

Geek Bomb‘s latest “Book Club” video chat was dedicated to The Lies of Locke Lamora and featured Scott as well as friends from over at ‘Thieves Prosper’. Scott discusses the making of the first opus, gives a quick update about the progress of The Thorn of Emberlain (might be finished in the next couple of months!), talks titles (#6 may change…), and drops hints about the Sanzas’ sexual preferences!

[Updated] Thorn of Emberlain update

A couple of tidbits from The Thorn of Emberlain front.
First, Scott posted a short update concerning the progress of the next installment of the Gentleman Bastard series. The book is “very deeply underway” and should be finished “only a bit later than hoped.” Since original predictions were late 2014-early 2015, we can only assume that this means spring 2015, if all goes well.
Second, Scott intends to read the first excerpt of The Thorn of Emberlain at Finncon. We’ll keep you updated once we know more.
In the meantime, we remind you that Scott’s latest short story is out in Rogues, should you need your Lynch fix!

Update: The reading from The Thorn of Emberlain is scheduled for Saturday, July 12, at 3pm. If you are attending Finncon, please send us a recording or summary!
