Thorn of Emberlain pushed back to 2016

Scott Lynch has announced a schedule shift in the release of the next installment of his Gentleman Bastard series, The Thorn of Emberlain, from Autumn 2015 to a 2016 date. Citing health reasons (we wish him all the best), Lynch nonetheless assures that the completion of the manuscript is near and that he will appear at various events this year. He also thanks his readers and fans for their “continued patience and support.”

To alleviate any withdrawal, we suggest to go over to Uncanny Magazine to read or re-read Lynch’s excellent short story “A Year and a Day in Old Theradane.” It’s just been released, as it was announced previously. Enjoy!

    1. We are all looking forward to more Locke and Jean shenanigans. Let’s look on the bright side: Scott seems better and the manuscript is probably nearing completion.

  1. All good things are worth waiting for. Will eagerly anticipate the day Thorn comes out, no matter when that day is. Hope you feel better Scott!

  2. Do we know if the audiobook of Thorn of Emberlain will be released simultaneously with the paperback/ebook version? And if so, will the excellent Michael Page still be the narrator?

    1. There has been no information on that front, but I’ll look into it and get back to you. As far as I can remember the audio version of Republic of Thieves was released about 2 months after the print/e-versions.

  3. Just finished my second read through of the infamous trials of Locke and friends, and I am truly looking forward to the fourth installment of the series! Much love Scott Lynch

  4. We’ve heard back from an official source that things have not been settled about the audiobook yet—probably because such details cannot be arranged until the book manuscript is completed and the publishing schedule is set. But Michael Page still is the first choice as a narrator and it is expected that the audiobook will be released as close to the book release date as possible. We’ll let you know when we get an update.
